How do we decide on the right time and price for a stock?

Many people ask me , how to find right time to buy a stock. How to find if a stock is cheap or expensive.

Finding a good stock and good price is not simple luck, it's an art as well a science. It's no luck that some investor always find excellent stocks while other simply get into wrong stocks. Experience does play a big role.

Good dividend does not always means good stock

A STOCK WITH HIGH DIVIDEND IS USUALLY VER APPEALING UNFORTUNATELY ALL COMPANIES PAYYING HIGH DIVIDEND  DOES NOT MEAN GOOF STOCKS.DIVIDEND FUNDAMENTALLY MEANS THAT  COMPANY IS DISTRIBUTING ITSIT'S EARNING TO SHAREHOLDERS THAT MEANS DIVIDEND SHOULD COME FROM NET EARNING BUT SOMETIME COMPANIES FOOL INVESTORS BY BORROWING MONEY JUST TO PAY DIVIDEND

Being cautious small investors

Market is rising high and it doesn't require much intelligence to find running stocks but it's absolutely recommended to be cautious at these levels. There are opportunities out there but make sure that you invest in only well known companies and don't join the crowd in chasing speculative stocks with no earnings and dividends.

Funds and high networth investor have more information then a common investor or trader and they can dump stocks much before we will know it.

1. Buy only well known stocks
2. Don't look at those stocks jumping high , the bigger they jump harder they will fall.

Criteria for picking good stocks

The 5 Criteria for Picking Great Stocks

1. Valuation - Stocks with low valuations will outperform the market over the long haul. Therefore, we recommend companies trading with P/Es and Price to Book (P/B) multiples below their peers.

2. Management Effectiveness - We evaluate the fiscal health of the company, with a particular emphasis on how effectively it is managed. Our research shows that Return On Equity [ROE] is the best measure of this. So we seek out companies generating an ROE that is superior to their industry peers.
