What I think of Airtel and Rcom
Airtel joining global league of telecom players while reliance stuck into local highly competitive market. Is there a value for investors here ?

Bharati Airtel too desparate to expand outside india
Bharati is offering $10B for Zain Telecom's Africa business. Recently Bharati tried to go with MTN that was unsuccessful. Zain has over 41 Million customers in Africa. Growing at rate fo 24% africa is becoming next big market for Telecom.
How can this affect Bharati in short and long horizon. I think Bharati might take some decision which can negatively affect it's profitability and stress balance sheet in short term. Long term nature of these deals will be known once more details are out. I am staying out of Telecom and Bharati in particular.

Finding the best telecom stock for 2010
Wired telephone are loosing shine and wireless rates are dropping. Competition is tough that brings me to an interesting point I have not seen in last 3 years. Telecom stocks in fastest growing telecom market in world available at steep discount. Look at these p/e and p/book value and its no brainer which one is cheapest stock.

Don't play telecom, lesson learned from Airlines
India telecom market is getting crowded with more and more players including Decomo and Uninor taking plunge into fastest growing telecom market in the world. While the growth is tremendous competition is cut throat and that is killing margins.
I think we should expect a significant decline in profitability of Airtel, Idea and Rcom.
The same happened with Airliens last year when market got congested with many cheap players who ruined the party for Jet Airlines. Those cheap airlines didn't survive but they did the damage.

Telecom slides continue Bharati close to 52 week low, is it a bargain?

3G rollout from BSNL, will it impact AIrtel ?
About anilmehta

Telecom price war continues Idea cuts prepaid rate in Mumbai
Idea cuts the rate to 40 paise per min. Wow !!! Consumer si really gaining big way with this price war among telecom player. I never thought 10 years ago when I used to pay 15 Rs per min to call long distance in India on Fixed landline.Back then rupee was 38Rs for a dollar. On one hand rupeee go cheaper than other hand call price went down. I really feel jeleous to new generation who call so cheap .
