Is Bayer CropScience a long term buy ?

Bayer Crop Science was earlier called Bayer India.It is a subsidiary of the Bayer germany, which is a world leader in Agrichemicals.

Bayer sales pesticides and chemicals that is used to protect crops. Bayer has strong position in this business segmement and steadily growing at rate of more than 15%.

Current drought condition across Indian can impact sales of Bayer this year. But this is the best long term growth stocks in agrochemicals. As the demand for food grows there will be more pressure for securing crops and better seeds. Bayer has clear advantage due to its technologically advanced parent company. Bayer AG acquired Aventis CropScience, that gives it access to Crop Protection, seeds biotechnology and non-agricultural pest control.

2008-09 Sales : 1482 Cr.
Net profit : 94 Cr
Current Market Cap: 1402 Cr

P/E = 14

This is really a value stock in hot agriculture sector.I think Bayer Cropscience deserve a position in long term portfolio. I see this as 10000 Cr company by 2015.
