As per WSJ

India announced solar-power ambitions that dwarf anything in
the U.S., or even in China for that matter. India is aiming for 20
gigawatts of solar power by 2020, with as much as 200 gigawatts by
2050. To put that in perspective, the entire world installed 6
gigawatts of photovoltaic solar power last year, the industry’s best
ever.


1. Tata power

A joint venture between Tata power and BP Solar.

Tata BP
Solar provides customized solar solutions that illuminate homes,
streets and communities; pump water to thirsty fields and heat water
for residential and commercial applications.

Sales of Rs.9098 million in 2007-08.
